Which ExoCar?
The Superlight Roadster by a mile. Fran has done an incredible job putting together an affordable good looking package that fits my needs perfectly! The Atom is nice, but way too expensive. The others are not as appealing either...

I think the Atom is a wonderful piece of engineering, but even though owning one would be a dream, the SL-R is in my price range. Also the fact that I have a ton of experience with the Honda K series engine makes it that much more desirable.

I just got the MEV Rocket built.
If the price was more competative for the SuperLite Roadster I might have reconsidered.

Taking price into consideration, the sonic 7 is a winner for me. Even though it is a steal at $6500/kit (+donor etc.), it looks great too and is said to go 0-60 in 4.5 seconds according to a youtube video (but I don't know what engine). I've always been a fan of the lotus super 7 for its performance and low cost, but always hated the looks. The sonic 7 solves that problem. The other exo-cars are either expensive, ugly, or both...although they all perform well.

I am honestly torn. The Atom is great, but out of my price range and even if I could afford it, I'd rather build an SL-R and have 40k left for another project.
My first instinct is to go for the Mev Rocket, it aint the prettiest, but it has charm and the price is amazing. However, the focus donor is less than ideal and I am just getting started in the kit car thing so I want to keep my engineering and fab work within my grasp.
The Sl-R is my favorite, it is great looking and has great potential with a honda k-series. Plus they offer a windshield package which is one less thing I have to fab up to pass VA state qualifications. The company producing them and Fran seem as legitimate as possible. The only kicker is it will cost more than twice as much as the rocket.
The V-storm, is third on my list. It's a little too new to the market for me to be comfortable with and it cost as much as the SL-R, but the central driving position, seating for 3 and Subaru drivetrain. Right now it's not even an option, but by the time my money is saved it may be worth consideration.
Realistically I am probably still leaning towards the rocket, but I don't want to commit to a decision quite yet.

All the cars listed give the owners the opportunity to build and drive whatever floats their boat....
MEV build some cool cars but you must compare apples to apples...
Obviously I know the
SL-R very well and it comes with components needing little to no upgrade for full on 400hp track performance.... as proven by our Aussie track car..
Donor....no donor required.
big brakes as standard.....or stock donor
aluminum rad....or stock donor
rod end(rose joint) suspension.... or poly bushings
seamless DOM chassis and suspension....???
TIG welded.... or MIG
digidash ..... or donor gauges...
Delivered rolling.....in boxes
no import costs...taxes.
No changing price due to international exchange rate..
MADE IN AMERICA...
I admire what MEV builds for the price and I am not picking on them to be detrimental or start a flame war.....just using their cars as an example....
Many happy smiles per mile in all Exocars......
Choices. We actually have a few choices, and more are coming. That is a great thing.

The SL-R looks great, looks to be a great performer at the track. I honestly didn't even know it existed till i got on this site more, and that was after i put in the order for the rocket. If i had not already ordered my car I would have had alot tougher of a choice to make. At the end of the day i think the value for money is outstanding with all RCR products (the gt40 is pure ***); however I think the slightly higher cost would have still been an issue for me. I'm still young and while i have a good job money is tight and this project is going to stretch me thin. I know i could wait a couple of years and then do it... but how many people say that and never act? Might as well do it now while i can.
I do want to build an electric car one day, and if the SL-R is still in production I'll likely be giving you guys a ring :D

Ok lets use cars as an example as you have nominated to do with MEV's products - The SLR obviously and clearly has suspension geometry problems. It doesn't matter if you have DOM, heim joints and gold plated grease nipples if the pivots are in the wrong places.
Also stating it has no import charges etc. has no relevance, the end price is the end price and the Sonic or Rocket for example is way, way cheaper than the SLR even with it's taxes and import costs, in fact no comparison.
I think you are wrong to quote budget priced MEV's, try comparing your expensive SLR's to Atoms where your market is and some advantages are clearer.
Cheapracer, you have a great product in development and obviously a great deal of experience.
I'm no automotive engineer. However, a blatant attack or criticism of another companies product on a consumer forum never leads to positive results on the internet. I've seen such situations over and over on other car forums. Reputations are tarnished on both sides. It would serve your interests far better to simply deliver a product that is clearly of the quality and caliber that you deem acceptable and let customers and neutral evaluators toot your horn, rather than inflate your own skills, reputation, or product by attempting to tear someone else's apart. A given product will in time always testify for itself as to its quality and the merit of it's design.
You can't win a race by attacking someone's running technique, or tripping them - which slows down both runners. To really win you train harder and run faster.

CHEAPRACER.
My point exactly...you need apples to apples...
I view the Atom and KTM as expensive.....surely you agree...
I sell cars all over the World and taxes and shipping play a huge part in global business.
I look forward to meeting you and your car at the track with mine....:thumb2:

The Engine fitted at the time was a 1.8ltr ford focus 16v Zetec totally standard including catalytic converter (115BHP)

Thanks LS-Fbomb!
but the poll is rigged...LOL! I'm pretty sure B-T would choose an RCR :run:and Me, Marty, and others wouldn't pick the cars we're building...LOL

It's cool that Matrix as a company does lots of customer questioning and asks the opinions of the new owner. That's what sold me. I covet the busa powered car that was on ebay...Great looking rake on the roll bar made it really aggressive.
