I understand where you are coming from.

That is going to be an amazing engine. Extremely high horsepower naturally aspirated engines are magnificent beasts.

That engine set up to race is going to scare the crap out of anything breathing within a mile radius.

I've had two performance machines built purely for performance. In other words, loud and cranky. They are fun, but in time, mostly only fun at a track.

Neighbors grow to hate the machine, and the owner. The baddest performance almost always comes with the price of sacrificed daily drivability.

Now that I'm an old man :old: I day dream about machines that are at least capable of being as quiet as an economy passenger car at cruising speeds, faster than a porche turbo at race rpms, and starting up as reliably as a Civic anytime, anywhere. The Atom did that. The SL-R is capable of doing that. That is my goal.

However, you guys build them into the baddest screaming beasts on the planet. That motor would fit the bill. I'll be cheering you on.

Its a great show.

I'm just day dreaming. I'm sure the engine will be way beyond my price budget. And if I did have that much money I'd probably be buying a SL-C with an LS-7.

I am just amazed what people are doing with these honda engines.

Luckily, I don't have too many neighbors to worry about. We live on the edge of town and are literally 5 minutes from the middle of nowhere.

Similar situation here on the living space. But it was not always so.

Yea... Keep on day dreaming. I approve. (as if that matters=)

Honda rules the sport compact world.

As far as I know they are still producing the most horse power per liter in the known universe, in an automotive passenger car application.

The sweetest thing about them though is the HUGE HUGE aftermarket support.

That aftermarket only developed because of so many people owning Honda's and wanting to upgrade/modify or race them.

All those people own Honda's because they are so reliable and easy to work on.

I'm half asleep here. I start stating boring obvious facts that everyone knows. Forgive please.

Oh well, for that one stranger locked in a basement all his life, who has never heard any of the above useless car nut common knowledge, I leave this for you.

You're a funny guy Gage.

I absolutely agree with you. I realize that the technology used is Honda engines are also used in a lot of other cars. But Honda seems to implement it so well. They've got some really good engineers working for them.

I've been trying to talk the wife into letting me trade in my IS300 for the new Honda Civic Si. The 2009 civics are getting a facelift and I think it looks a lot better than the previous years. Less 'spaceshipy.' I think that would be a great DD being its super reliable and pretty fun too. And when I want to go fast, I'll just take out the SL-R...

I hear this is rumored to appear in the Atom 500.
