Factory Engine mounts?

Karlo, do you know if all the different model K-series Honda engines K20, K23, K24 and all the transmissions, 5 speed, 6 speed have the same mounts? These engines are coming from the factory in Accords, Acuras, Hondas, CRVs, Elements, etc and it seems hard to believe that these all have the same engine/transmission mounts. If they do not, as I suspect, how can one say that the car comes "standard" with either Honda or Ecotec engine and transmission mounts? Purchasing and engine prior to receiving the car is sort of difficult if the mounts are different. I'd appreciate comments from anyone with experience with the Hondas

Honda K series engine mounts are very similar, similar enough to be called the same, the only difference is the K24-23 height of the engine, 2-3" higher.

Transmission mounts still needs to be verified. Keep watching this spot.

I have been looking at k20a.org and it seems that the different transmissions will bolt up to the different blocks but there are differences in the transmission mounts between the different K-series drivetrains. I've seen several references to these differences. Here's a typical quote from this thread:

"...the chassis issue. I know that you cannot use a TSX transmission in a K20 vehicle without some custom mounts. What I'm not sure about is if the Accord transmission has the same issue. I suspect it does, but I'm don't know for sure."

Today Fran got the K series engine trans mock-up to finalize the engine trans mounts. Keep watching------- Bugger engine only trans is on its way.

Well the prices of the SRT-4 motor prices are hard to ignore. So factory motor mount will be available. :cool3:

Good call, RCR. More options at the same price to please more folks, all while keeping the budget exo racer as top priority! I'll re-iterate, I am still predicting a somewhat undexpectedly huge response once the SLR is released!
