For those that need (State Req) or want a windshield as an option to the Kit.
The glass windshield with a wiper, for practical purposes be a "wind deflector" tall enough to see through.
The thought behind a windshield is to make the car legal in ALL States and for those that want more wind protection.
Who wants a windshield with their Superlite Roadster?
My state of Idaho, I think does not require a windshield. I am comfortable with a helmet but I am on the fence. Maybe I will try it without first.

Karlo I live in Washington State and was thinking I would like to try without it also. But I was wondering is the windshield upgradeable or will you have to buy the slr with the option? Maybe there is some modification to the chassis that wont allow someone who bought the slr without a windshield to upgrade?

I would be in for a windshield. Makes the driving more enjoyable without a helmet.:coolnana:

OK guys...
there will be a glass deflector style windshield with a wiper...not a full blown 1942 Willy's jeep windscreen.
The screen will be DOT safety glass and will be compliant with ALL DMV's.
The screen is still a styled piece and is custom to the SL-R.....
It will be able to be purchased as a retro fit piece that will include a trim strip that will hide the seam/joint between the screen and front cowl/hood

Thanks Fran, for NOT making the windshield standard equipment.
In Texas no winshield is required, no fenders are required. A functioning emergency brake is required, full lighting is required and in many larger metropolitan locations, an emmisions test is required. It isn't clear what they will do about gas tank lids especially if it doesn't use one of the standard caps.
