The engine of choice for this car seems to be the LS7 with the Ford OEM GT gearbox. Although you have lots of choices because of the large engine bay.

The SL-C stands out even when sitting next to a couple of Ferraris. I still can't get over how good looking of a car that is. You did a great job Fran. I always liked black or white the best on the SL-C, but that red looks fantastic as well.

I hope that door is cracked open a bit and that's not the actual fit

Bolus...me too....wink.

Anyone that has seen one of the SL-C bodies straight from the moulds will attest to the near perfect fit....

I think you might trade your 2 finished car projects for 1 Superlite Coupe once you finish them.

So what are the wheels on the coupe? They look somewhat like the Enkei RP-F1, but not exactly.

Fran Hall RCR

CCW C10 wheels...Single piece forged.
18 x 11 and 18 x 13 using Hoosier R6 or MICHELIN PS2

Of course--the cheap stuff. I can almost buy four Enkei RP-F1's for one of those bad boys. Gorgeous, though...

Actually they are very inexpensive for one piece forged wheels of that size....and weight,
$2900 per set of four...check out what Fikse or Kinesis wheels cost...although Fikse has gone bang along with Dymag..
Dymag made some sweet looking...carbon/mag wheels...15k a set...dont know about their reliability but they sure looked cool for the "in" crowd...

For what you get they are an absolute bargain. I remember picking up a set of HRE forged wheels for my friends Porsche Turbo--they felt like they were made of lead. Their weight seemed to run counter to everything you look for in a performance wheel, except perhaps strength. These CCW look to be very light for a large sized hoop. I don't think the Sonic 7 would respond well to rims this size.

Fran Hall RCR

I reckon they would be alright on the Sonic as long as you run some slicks....wink

Changes to the Rear of the Superlite Coupe.

Fran Hall RCR
02-15-2010, 06:50 PM
Not changes ...but options....

Original tail and rear wing is one and the new tail shown about will be the other..

I have had many requests for a more "street" tail so have obliged...

The tails will retrofit and are also interchangable in under an hour...so street to track rat in 60 mins...or vica versa.

This has all been done in house in the new clay model studio...

This has all been done in house in the new clay model studio...

Won't work, clay is way to heavy and even in slight accidents it tends to shatter.

If you keep it warm its better than an airbag for absorbing impact...and bodywork can be redone at the local kindergarten if necessary...

It's Nice to see a Kit/Super Car that's made in the USA, and especially the Midwest!

Photos of new optional tail.

Customers will be able to choose the original race style rear or the new sports style rear.

There are separate housings for the tail lights that are not shown, also some other nice decorative touches to finish it off.

Enjoy.

I like both versions, but if I had to choose one it would the newer version. Once the rear lights and cutouts are done I think it will give it even more character.

I am t-7 paraplegic. I have decided to shop for my mid-life crisiss...lol...
Any way, I need to have an automatic transmission. What motor/tranny options are there for the superlite? A modern motor/ tranny combo with the semi auto paddle shift is what I would like. Would RCR be willing to do some cuustom fab work for a hand controlled throttle/brake set up? If not, I will install the Menox hand controls.

thanks

The best thing about these cars is that almost anything is possible!

I know there is a car is the works using an LMP drivetrain with paddle shift racing box. I am assuming you want something for the street as well......

I'd love to see a DSG or PDK box setup, but that is lots of engineering and $$$

I was thinking along the lines of a tiptronic semi-automatic.
