That was a great read, thanks!

Does anyone remember how to figure piston speed "PS" since that is usually what limits the peak RPM an engine can handle. The reason I ask is that I am assuming that PS is what is limiting the 2.4L engines redline. I am pretty much wondering what a properly built bottom end (rods, pistons, crank, support) in a 2.4L would be able to handle.

If someone was to like the revs the 2L puts out (8K+) you could go and build a long rod combo of the small 2L crank in the 2.4L block and then throw in a set of long rods to reduce sidewall loads and have a better rod to stroke ratio combo. I am a V8 guy at heart so this is a suggestion based on the assumption that the parts are interchangable. This would also be a wonderful chance to drop the compression ratio if someone was thinking big boost.

Sorry for rambling,:k::k:
