Anyone have any ideas on the difference between something that produces 250BHP and 17 to 20 MPG in a 2300 pound vehicle compared to the fuel milage in a 1400 pound or less one??? I am thinking of using the Vortech out of an S10/S15 but it gets really bad milage..altho I am thinking I saw a supercharger for it somewhere,,,and that might be fun enuff to forget the price of gas now,,,which just went up to $3.45 in my area from 3.11 overnight

My Miata powered 1400 pound Ginetta gets around 30 mpg in quick driving use. A Miata which weighs around 1200 pounds more gets about 22-24 using the same engine, so I would expect maybe a 26 mpg rating in the situation you describe.

How does it weigh 1400 pounds? Or rather, dang! Is it that light?

No roof, no doors, no windows, no wipers, no heater, no bumpers, no airbags, no trunk, no insulation, no carpet, no seat tracks, no A/C, no P/S, superthin glass body, 15"x6" minilite wheels / 195/50-15 tires, etc....
A good cross wind will throw the car around! It doesn't have much more to it than the SL-R.

Yea the wind thing had me worried. I have learned to duck and throttle on the bike but I was hoping with four wheels that it wouldn't be quite as bad

It is definitely more confortable in the car, cross wind is very noticeable on the highway. One other thing that keeps the Ginetta light is the size. 11 feet overall length, and a 38" height to the top of the windshield! I measured my ground clearance and it is 2.75" to the bottom of the oil pan, and about 2.25" to the bottom of the front anti-sway bar. 3.25" under the drivers seat which is bolted to a floor pan, so you do sit very much like the height you experience on a go kart.

yeha i wonder how the cross winds are going to affect the car?
I have no idea why... but our Atom with a 2.0 liter 205hp(stock rating) GM Ecotec got maybe 1 or two miles per gallon more than the stock rating of a full size car (Chev Cobalt SS). At the track we might have gotten 5mpg. LoL
