Compact and makes pretty good power. I'd use the dash too. But how would you get the transmission to work?

Looks like it is compact enough. But you would have to figure the trans like Chad says.

Yamaha put their R1 engine in the FX140 watercraft, so it seems we're back to the motorcycle engine question. The original Jet Ski motor was based on a 2-stroke bilge pump engine made for Kawasaki Heavy Industries (container ship bilge). Colin Chapman's Lotus 7 engine had a similar ignominious beginnings (fire hose pump engine?), if I remember correctly.
