what are people's opinions on minimum ride height (ground clearance) with say a 7.5 foot wheelbase?

My first guess was 4 inches, although the Sonic 7 comes with 5 inches standard. I guess it depends on how big they build the speed bumps in your neck of the woods. :)

yea, my original plans called for 4 inches. my old man ( a fellow gear head) kept saying "thats really low" so i upped it to 5in just to be safe. its got a really stubby nose so i dont think i will have too many issues

4 inches is okay for the mid portion of the car. The leading edge of the nose would be better a bit higher in most cases. My Ginetta has 2.75" at the oil pan, and 3" at the seat pans. It scrapes on some speedbumps, but nothing has broken from that yet.
