That looks similar to the one I am going to try to fab up, but I will have a lower, wider opening. Like this (but blended to a simple, nearly flat element):

How easy is it to make your intake? Can rookies do it?

errrmm well it's easy for me.... but I've been at this kind of thing for almost 25years now... I'm no Leonardo Da Vinci ether... :old:

It is very time-consuming, to say the least

These days with digital CNC and 5axis Mills and what-not, stuff like this would be much easier and much more accurate, having it done for you, than to go through all this trouble... :)
