I know the original shifter placement was somewhat a prototype, any more info on the subject?

Yes Karlo here is some more info on the gearshifter.
After the customer feedback from the test day. The gear lever has been moved over slightly to allow a little more clearance from the steering wheel, but it has been kept within the SVA exemption zone around the steering wheel,so it will meet sva requirments, also we have re -engineered the stick shift so it can operate either way, which ever is the customers preference. One forward five back,or one back five forward.
In addition to this the gearstick housing is now on roller bearings so the shift is virtually friction free and gives a very smooth light gearchange,it can also be mounted on the left or right hand side of the steering wheel so you can change gear left or right handed whichever you prefer. The position of the gear stick is in a very natural place making it tactile close to hand, with minimal time off the steering wheel to make those fast gearchanges, and is similar to that used in British Touring Car Race Series cars.
Well I guess thats it.Later this year we will be testing some electronic button / paddleshift units to see which we feel works best and this will be available as an option.
Thanks Simon

Couple more Questions Simon,
Is the Gear Shifter, cable driven or?
Can the Gear shifter be relocated if desired?
Thanks Simon.

karlo the gearchange uses a push pull type, low friction cable.
So its easy enough to repositon it on the opposite just re-route the cable.
cheers
Simon
