Hey Cheapracer,
Maybe you’ve figured out by now that this forum is for wild speculation and pseudo informed judgment. No room for physics, engineering or any of that nerd crap. That stuff isn’t cool and we don’t want it here. Besides, it just gets in the way of making the car right.
Here is what you need to do: Hire an advertising firm to sell your car. Tell them the sky’s the limit – Stock Toyota motor with 7 sequential turbos, 800-1600 whp with patented Dial-A-Boost. Total weight below 450 kg with driver (any driver; doesn’t matter). Use the frame tubing as the conduit for the intercooler. Hell, skip the intercooler and just use the frame. And small brakes. Tiny little brakes. Brakes sourced from a bicycle company. None of that pesky unsprung weight here. And you could offer helium filled tires!! Now you have negative unsprung weight. I’m a genius. I could go on like this for hours…
You owe me big-time royalties for my ideas.
Cheques in the mail except for a slight reduction for the "run it through the frame intercooler" idea, read back and you see I claimed it first.
mkim1, I see Geckos forging ahead nicely with his 4th (on paper) design change and the wrong (but cheap!) LSD type and mentioned he won't post here much - no glory here for him. Have a nice day :-)

Cheap,
You are truly pathetic. While other companies are making profits by producing cars that people want and already placed orders for, you seem to spend more time on this forum trying to win potential customers with your garage project, while making fun of other car enthusiasts' trials.
I don't know who Gecko is, but I'm sure he's been enjoying his project. Good, bad, ugly, who cares? If he enjoys what he does, that's all that matters. Unlike you, I'm sure he wasn't looking for glory on this forum. If he doesn't post any longer, that's because of not wanting to waste his time with nasty "know-it-all"s like you.
I can almost guarantee you that none of the current Atom owners will buy your car (no matter at what price). Unless you have something that will benefit the readers of this forum, please stop writing (especially on this thread). Thanks.

Why would you even entertain that an Atom owner would buy a cheaper, lower quality "look alike" etc? I don't.
I have posted helpful fact, I also posted a lot of helpful fact to Gecko it just doesn't fit in with your's or his plan so you choose not to believe it and thats entirely up to you.
If you answer me again, I'll answer you again, your choice. Thanks :-)

Great, a fight club - love it!!!!!
I'll post pictures of my 5000 square meter, 2 story "garage" next week too, lol!
So muckinaroundkim1, wheres your project shots, drawings or details and/or worksite pictures? I don't really mind that I offered you an opinion to help you and you retort with various names and putdowns on my vehicles but you actually need something tangible yourself to make those names stick - in my mind anyway :-).
Ahh, this Ozzie sun is soooo relaxing.

Yes! MMA Fight Round 2! : )
Hey, I don't need to show you how nasty and unorganized my garage is, since I'm not trying to sell anything on the forum. : ) But since you're asking, I'll share with you that we're buying another new house with 3.5 car garage this week so that I can leave my Europa kit aircraft in my current house and have enough space for the Sonic7 build when Stuart's team finalize the hardtop option.
BTW, I have nothing against your car, and I don't think I called it with various names (sorry if you felt that way). I just wanted to point out the fact that the market for these cars are quite small. Most target customers are used to driving Porsche and other fast cars, and most of them ordered the Atom because they didn't like the fact that such a tiny car beat their more expensive car on the track. The 2.8 sec. 0-60 times didn't hurt, either.
The only reason why I'll order the Sonic7 is because MEV will offer the windshield and hardtop option so that I can use it as a daily driver by wearing only the ear muffs (carry a helmet & a steering wheel to business meetings is not too practical :).
Also, it may be hard for you to believe, but I did like your last input on the Quickest Kit Car thread. Almost word-for-word exactly what I've done on my 2008 Mustang chassis, so I'll probably implement some of your recommendations on the Sonic7. But since Sonic7 will be such a light car and I do want it to perform well on the track as well, I'll try to put 275/40ZR17 & 315/35ZR17's (similar to Zcar Mini's getting 2.6 sec. 0-60 times) with an upgraded Ecotec Turbo (LNF, my favorite GM engine) & MU3 5-spd trans. so that I can launch it with 2nd gear (same as Atom) and get to 60 mph with only 1 shift.
BTW, my wife and I loved visiting Sydney and driving through the wine country. Next trip, the Great Barrier Reaf...

The SLR obviously and clearly has suspension geometry problems. It doesn't matter if you have DOM, heim joints and gold plated grease nipples if the pivots are in the wrong places.
I joined this forum to get more information about exocars and read the above. Please explain as I had a bonnified race car engineer (designed a complete open-wheel single seater for Swift and his resume includes Lotus and two CART teams) look at the SL-R and somehow he missed the clear and obvious.
Would you care to explain the suspension geometry problems of the SL-R because at this time, it is the car of my choice. Perhaps you could post up a couple of drawings showing how your car's geometry differs and explain how it's better. I really don't want to make the wrong choice!
Thanks

There are NO issues....

Given my friend's CV, I didn't think so. I'd love to hear Cheapracer's theories anyway.
Are the fenders I've seen on some SL-Rs RCR parts? I like the ones I've seen on your Nemesis, and not the 270+ degree coverage ones pictured on a SL-R.
Do you have any photos of your SL-R DOT windshield?

After reading Cheapracer's comments, I too had a bonnified race car engineer (worked on a F1 design team, also was test driver for Porsche for several years) look at the SL-R and he didn't see the clear and obvious geometry issues either.
So if it's so clear and obvious Mr. Cheapracer, I too would like you to point these issues out.
Personally, I'm a bit skeptical about Mr. Cheapracer's comments since he clearly has something to gain (he's been promising a competitive car for some time).
As they say, Caveat Emptor. Just because someone describes himself as an "Expert", doesn't mean he is.

Out of interest, what does your friend (and you of course) think of the Atom's general suspension, handling, etc layout?
Given its price, the Atom never came up in our discussion.

So, what's wrong with the SL-R's geometry and handling? Is your rather cryptic post a retractoin of your claim? Did you think you could post that without someone asking for an explanation?
I'd like to read your theories on suspension and handling. It would go a long way in helping me understand the kind of engineering behind your car. You're either a whole lot smarter than the people I went to for advice, or not. As of now, all I'm sure of is the time you've spent on a reverse gear and back up lights.

Suspension geometry and handling are not the dark art they once were, it is now a fairly well understood science. The differences in design now days are intended customer usage and preference, comfort, and ease of adjustment. Point being it is a compromise and if you ask 100 different people what they like and don't like about a cars handling your likely to get 100 different answers provided the car in question is not just pure crap.

It’s unfortunate that a potential competitor is allowed to publically post false and malicious statements about a manufacturer, and then isn’t required to publically explain his statements when asked to do so. Instead the reply is “I responded to those that PM’d me”. I guess your theories are a Big Secret, and now when challenged you’re worried about etiquette?
Mr. Cheapracer, I think you owe Fran and the other members of this forum a public apology.

The Queen's Breasts
Once upon a time lived a beautiful Queen with large breasts.
Nick the Dragon Slayer obsessed over the Queen for this reason.
He knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try
to touch them, but he had to try.
One day Nick revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio
the Physician, the King's chief doctor.. Horatio thought about this and
said that he could arrange for Nick to more than satisfy his desire, but
it would cost him 1000 gold coins to arrange it.
Without pause Nick readily agreed to the scheme.
The next day, Horatio made a batch of itching powder and poured a
little bit into the Queen's bra while she bathed.
Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense.
Upon being summoned to the Royal Chambers to address this incident,
Horatio informed the King and Queen that only a special saliva, if
applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch, and that tests
had shown that only the saliva of Nick would work as the antidote to
cure the itch.
The King, eager to help his Queen, quickly summoned Nick to their
chambers.. Horatio then slipped Nick the antidote for the itching
powder, which he put into his mouth, and for the next four hours,
Nick worked passionately on the Queen's large and magnificent breasts.
The Queen's itching was eventually relieved, and Nick left satisfied and
hailed as a hero.
Upon returning to his chamber, Nick found Horatio demanding his
payment of 1000 gold coins. Nick couldn't have cared less knowing that Horatio could never report this matter to
the King and with a laugh told him to get lost.
The next day, Horatio slipped a massive dose of the same itching
powder into the King's underwear. The King immediately summoned Nick.

What the heck is wrong with you? I thought this forum exists to help people choose which exo-car to buy and build. I come here for information and read your post about problems in the design of the SL-R.
I understood your post when I read it. You took one big fat swipe at a competitor. Excuse me for noticing. I don't want to buy a car that at best performs poorly or at worst kills me.
Instead of answering my question about what you think is wrong with RCR's design and what's better about your car, you post about spring cleaning and quote a science fiction character?
This is supposed to help you sell cars? Unbelievable.
I'm new here. Maybe it just takes a while to learn to ignore 50% of what you post!

Wow. You caught a typo. Congratulations!!! I think that's the most intelligent post you've made on this forum. Bravo.
What amazes me the most is that you haven’t grasped the fact that people like me are here to learn about these cars to make an intelligent buy decision. Yes. WE ARE YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. We are not here to buy chopsticks. We are here to invest a substantial amount of money on a car. So instead of answering a legitimate question, you try to insult your potential customers instead. I guess you weren’t an economics major so you haven’t figured out that you need customers to make money.
And as far as your Horatio quote. That just convinces me that you’re delusional.
The only thing good about this thread is that it’s convinced me (and probably a lot of other people) what car NOT to buy (the one made in China). Good luck in your venture (you need it). I'm done with this thread.

Tofu is a food of Chinese origin, made by coagulating soy milk, and then pressing the resulting curds into blocks. There are many different varieties of tofu, including fresh tofu and tofu that has been processed in some way. Tofu has very little flavor or smell on its own, so it can be used either in savory or sweet dishes, and is often seasoned or marinated to suit the dish
Tofu originated in ancient China, but little else is known about the origins of tofu and its method of production. Tofu and its production technique were subsequently introduced into Korea, then Japan during the Nara period. It also spread into other parts of East Asia as well. This spread likely coincided with the spread of Buddhism as it is an important source of proteins in the religion's vegetarian diet.[2]
Tofu is low in calories, contains a relatively large amount of iron and contains little fat. Depending on the coagulant used in manufacturing, the tofu may also be high in calcium and/or magnesium. Tofu also contains soy isoflavones, which can mimic natural human estrogens and may have a variety of harmful or beneficial effects when eaten in sufficient quantities
