Chromoly vs Mild Steel

I see that the Deronda is made of chromoly.

Why did you choose chromoly over steel?

chrome moly is much stronger then mild steel (dom) mild steel has a welded seam and must be welded carefully so the seams are not at week spots or touching each other, you would have to use 1/3 more wall thickness of the mild steel then the chrome moly to achieve the same strength , we used this because of our racing background, im not saying mild steel is bad! if done right it is good,using chrome moly is about twice the price of the mild steel also , and then the tig welding just makes it all stronger
