I passed on a 900 dollar donor in Houston a month ago, would have been perfect. Now i'm having alot of trouble finding anything close to that deal again. This sucks. Anyone know someone in Louisiana with a dealers license?

Just be persistent. A deal just as good or better will come up. Traderonline, craigslist, etc. are other places to check.

I got a line on a modded car i'm going to try and buy. Significantly over the budget, but considering all the goodies it has (ones i wanted anyway) its a really good price. Five to one power to weight here I come!

Good. Whenever possible, benefit from the work or expense that someone else has ALREADY put in. It just makes reaching your goal easier.
