Hey guys,

I'm starting to get very serious about building one of these cars, but I am limited. I am 6'8", and I dont know if I would fit in anything. I know I wont fit in a locust, even the bigger ones.. Anybody else this tall that has some input. I am open to many ideas, and would like to keep a build under 10-12k, including a donor, but there isnt too much info out there on who oculd actually fit in these things. Any suggestions?

- previously owned, and what i can fit in - 2000 audi s4, VW gti, 2003 audi a4, 2007 VW rabbit, 95 bonneville, even as small as some civics.

Simple, I'll build you a longer Mongrel Exo to suit at no extra charge, I already have allowed for this in the basic design.

I recommend traveling to San Diego to sit in Cords Sonic 7.

It seems to me, alteast with the SL-R, it doesn't matter how tall you are, just how wide you are. My father-in-law is 6'4" and fits just fine in the SL-R. With the ability to slide the pedals back and forth, you can fit a wide range of heights.

But I guess if someone is too fat to fit into one of these, they probably couldn't even climb in anyways.

If you are too fat just put a very wide seat in the driver's side and do without a seat on the passenger side... or put a tiny excuse of a seat on the passenger side. Grin

Read his post again Guys, He said his budget is 10-12K for a running car which eliminates the SLR. Leaves the Mongrel and the Rocket for Exo's and I guess the Sonic for something with clothes on.

Even though I'm only 6'1", I have very long legs and it's a pain (literally) in some cars that you "can fit into", there are other considerations such as dash/steering wheel height, gearstick position etc. to think about.

Thanks for the replies. The SL-R would be great, but the Federal Credit Union of my girlfriend only approved me for about 12k. I actually am torso tall - I have a torso of a 6'10" person, but legs of a 6'4" person, which helps out a little in the legroom dept (not so much on the looking "normal" dept).

After doing some more searching I saw this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hy0vzzKpD4

That guy look very tall, maybe even my height - fit with no seat. I was thinking maybe if I floor mount a Kirkey seat (http://www.kirkeyracing.com/index.php?link=browse&code=Series39#nogo), and this might be realistic. This is about the lowest profile seat I could find, that would still hopefully fit.

The roll bar will need to be taller for you also, which is not a problem.

Would the roll bar need to be custom made? I also have a couple more questions - is the rocket available in left-hand drive? What is the turn around time after I would order a kit?

The custom roll bar needed for tall guys will be removable to save on the shipping.

Brad is ordering a Rocket with taller roll bar FYI.

Yea, us tall guys need the extra height, especially when you account for two inches of helmet and two inches of clearance above the helmet.

I have not made a seat choice yet. Waiting to get the car and take some measurements.
