Well we all have opinions.
It's butt ugly, it's an aerodynamic nightmare (it's got a small engine remember), the rollbar is 100% unsafe and could they have tried harder to put the main mass (the driver and engine) out as far to the sides as possible? Nope.
Highly unimpressed with the name too and I'm sure Ariel are talking to their Lawyers as we speak.
Fail, how can a company that makes the Sonic give up this? - What about a narrowed single seater Sonic MEV???

meh, any open wheel car is an aerodynamic disaster. The rollbar cold be better, but to keep it simple and use off the shelf parts is probably why a side by side driver engine combo was used. It also looks like it has a super short wheelbase, something that is very hard to do and still use of the shelf stuff; perhaps near impossible if the driver and engine are centered.

Cheapracer, you are better than the daily comic strips in the newspaper. Please don't ever stop.

I swear I've seen a car set up very similar to this where a motorcycle engine was in the middle of the car. It was chain driven to both the rear and front tires. AWD exocar!

Ok.
But just look at the sweet lines of the orange Sonic on the right (which I have heralded as the new Locost shape of the 2000's) and imagine it narrowed with a single seat - sweet as and aerodynamic. Can't imagine for a moment why they presented this 1960's British club racer hashup instead, what a step backwards.
Oh, IMO.

Yep, that's the one!
That was not criticism by the way.
I think a couple of companies are working on something more like what you are talking about.

Hope so, I would like to see this industry go forward.
Consider the Atom-ic, it's a deadly weapon and I mean it in a bad way, the rear protection is zero, nil, zilch. Imagine on the road someone running into the back of you (and I mean that literally) or on a track day spinning backwards into the fence/tyre wall - you would be assured of being crippled for life if you survived. If this really happened it would reflect badly on our whole scene.
Sorry to be so factually negative but I look at it from all angles and then see the Sonic and can't believe they came out the same factory door.

Here we have a car weighing one third of a ton, its crazy to drive. 450bhp per ton, lots of noise, lots of wind, no passenger, just seat of the pants fun. No air bags or ABS. Of course that applies to nearly all kit cars but this one is mental and not for the faint hearted or inexperienced. Handling is a dream and that is the opinion of the U.K kit car media. 25% of the all up weight in each corner with a 100kgs driver on or in it. Not a car, more a motorbike with 4 wheels or an over grown go kart. Driver training required though!

Has there been anyone that's built one of these besides MEV? I got really excited about the build when I saw it in KITCAR a while back. I love the idea. Never mind CheapRacers comments. This thing would be a riot to drive.
