I am trying to figure our how the muffler will attach to the chassis? Looking at this pic :hscratch:

I thought about this also. The only thing I could come up with is either using the cross over bar mounts or welding a bar that could support hangers like in the atom. I'm sure Fran has thought this out though, I would like to hear his ideas.

The "X" brace is deleted on Honda engine. In place the tube that is part of the roll bar from the left to the right will be used and that might be attachment / bracket point.

Will have details soon of how we will run and mount the exhaust for the Mitsubishi 4G63.
Our headers are next to the firewall, so we will run the exhaust through the gap in the sump to the rear, so could have an advantage in that the muffer could just be pointing directly out the rear.

Man I hope you have some good insulation. That is going to be hot.

Be interesting to see how it works out. You've got to remember that both the engine bay side and cockpit side are open. So with some good aluminium heat shield and insulation it will be fine in my opinion.
Luckily both the builder, owner and I have all had experience with tight turbo installations and heat insulation on firewalls.
There are quite a few advantages to having the exhaust on the firewall side.
Anyway, will know soon enough.
