Is someone making that? (Or are they going to make it?)
I love it. Talk about a four wheel motor cycle!
These "concepts" just keep getting better and better. I must say I like the idea of one seat far better than two. Passengers just slow you down with all their screaming anyway. Then there is the mess you have to clean out of the passenger seat after the ride is over.
Well done on this sketch :thumb2: Any plans to build the project?
I can't say it enough. I absolutely LOVE that concept. That is one of the closest examples of a ground based fighter jet with the simplicty of an exoskeleton car that I have ever seen. X-wing fighter, Battlestar Viper, Topgun.. whatever, there it is, with wheels. It is elegant, razor like, weaponish, and simple. It looks like missile and lacks some of the wide akwardness of other exocars I've seen.
My only concern is this: Could I fit a car sized engine like a Honda 4 cylinder into it? Motorcycle engines (short of welded together pair of Hyabusas) simply do not make enough torque to provide the overkill that seek. =0)
I wish I could build that puppy.
With all that said.. Everything is more fun when you can share it with a friend/passenger. (two seaters)
Bump for an absolutely sweet looking exo-car concept.

2 things...
1) someone needs to build that
2) we need detailed dimensions so someone can build that

Yes, but what engine will fit? Right.. back to the dimensions question.

Hi Guys,
A few answers:
I am not, and honestly don't really have any plans to go further with the car. The project started by looking at a narrow single seater like the MK Sprint R and adding some truss type driver protection to the sides. It looked like a Rowboat.... So I started refining the design and taught myself Sketchup at the same time. I didn't plan on an Exoskeleton car at all, I figured it would all get covered, but it just started to look to good.
I like the design and think it would be striking, but is a little too Atomesque.
As to the dimensions question. The pictures you see were drawn with feasability in mind, but it is more a concept exercise than an engineering one. Meaning, there is enough room to fit the driver, but the seating position might suck. (BTW car is not as cool looking with the driver in it). A bike engine would fit easily, but the drivetrain might not workout. etc. etc. (No chance for a FWD transplant)
I have considered taking the project, exporting it to dxf and rebuilding it in Solidworks and working thru the feasability.
Thanks and All the Best,
T
That might actually be light enough for a Busa engine to be entertaining.

That might actually be light enough or a Busa engine to be entertaining.
I suspect that with either a tuned/blown Busa or Zx-14 you would be overpowering grip.

... which is much more fun than underpowering grip ;-)
