Hi everyone,

We have been a bit quiet on the forum as I have been building the new Subaru car and writing an in depth build manual at the same time.
We are launching the Subaru car at this show

http://www.grosvenorexhibitions.co.uk/KitCar/KitCar.html

Also here is a link to a new video clip of the V-Storm,Iwill be adding some more over the next few weeks. http://www.sdrsportscars.co.uk/Video.html

I will post some pictures from the show and of the new car after the weekend. Also the red and gold car on the home page is now up for sale,to make room for the new Subaru powered car.

Cheers

I watched the videos yesterday and they completely put me off getting a V storm. I really love the concept of the V-Storm and I am looking for a car that performs and handles like a Caterham R300/R400. The engine sounds like a kids toy go kart and the driving in the videos makes the cars handling look rubbish. I am not trying to offend anyone but I expected to say "Oh my god!" and put down an order.
I read complete kit car today and looking at the green V-storm in the article has seriously rekindled my interest. I would like to know the performance figures for the Kawasaki engined car.
I will buy a V-Storm if I can be convinced that I will end up with a LOUD, FAST, CRAZY car! otherwise I am looking at Tigers, or spending a bit more for a used Atom or R300/R400. If I get a bike engined car I want it to scream!

Hi lambo

Those videos really don't do the car justice. The engine sound is far better than that in person. The car handles very well, it looks to me that he is taking far too much speed into the corners. For comparison look at the second video and watch him round the bend where the marshals are and then try and spot the following car going round the same bend.

If your seriously looking at the V-Storm i would suggest seeing it or experiencing yourself first. I know Simon was trying to sort out a test day for his Subaru version so maybe see if you can get in on that. He was looking at doing at Prestwold Hall which is near me so I may be there aswell. Or at the very least go and see it at a kit car show, I would assume it will be at the Exeter one in November.

If you judged the noise that an Ariel Atom makes from most of the video footage taken.. you would think you hardly ever hear the engine, just a deafening roar of wind that scrapes your ear drums like a nail spiked board. However... that is not the case, as I'm sure is also true for the Vstorm.

Thanks 4 that. I will make sure I get to Exeter for the kit car show. The V-storm still ticks most of my boxes. If I get one, I want it to be in the R400 performance bracket ideally. I would really like to test drive a few cars before deciding, but Devon is so far from the living world!

Kitcars are what you make of them if u want something different/special you have to put the time and effort into doing so
The Kawasaki V storm is an immense car (not being biased) as my dad owns it but everyone that has been passenger in it gets out with a smile on their face
the videos of the v storm above are of the very first car ( prototype ) there has been some development since then

The will be a Kawasaki v storm preview/promo video soon so keep watching

Hi Jack - I am ever so impressed with the look of your dads car - do you have figures for 0-60? Are you likely to sell it?

we dont have 0-60 times as such yet but calculations suggest 74mph in first gear and 154mph in top but we are still running it in

Dad says everything is for sale at the right price but this car will be alot of money

Also, Lambo, I'm unsure if you have ever heard the Aprilia RSV V-Twin before but it truly is an amazing sound. It is a much louder and way better sound then it is in that video. As far as the subaru and zx10 engines go, I am not so sure. I am aware that the exhaust may change the sound but the Aprilia's tone is so unique it doesn't really matter. If only the Aprilia had more power though... I wonder if the new RSV4 engine would work?

I've just watched another vid on youtube and it sounded much better. It would be nice to see one of the cars being driven by a more experienced performance car driver to see how it looks being driven on the edge - it would help the sales of the V-Storm no end too i am sure. I still want one!

although i partially agree with what you say about seeing how car the v-storm could go with an experienced performance car driver, i don't really see the point in it because we would never be able to get to that level of driving ability if you want to race round the track and be able to set down fast lap times you buy a car built specifically for racing around tracks eg. radical ,westfield xr2, spire gtr, where really the v storm is a great road car that can produce the enjoyment of driving around the track if you should want to take it there
