Was wondering what would happen with a gas turbine in one of those little cars...

Great picture. =) That is a fantastic looking machine in the air or on the ground.

Will it have the new fiberglass body?
Shawn

Yes, it will have a new fiberglass body. The body design is the same but it is now made of fiberglass instead of ABS.

The Nemesis attracted a lot of attention at the Concourse d Elegance in Cincinnati this past weekend. Attached are some images from the show. The new body panels are a combination of carbon fiber and fiberglass.

I bet the Nemesis stuck out like a sore thumb, compare to the nearby company. Any interested persons wanting to buying one?
Looks like the ride height was set at around 2". That type of setting looks awesome, but I don't think it could make it over speed bumps. One of the nice things about race cars is that they can tend to stay looking like the rendering that always seem to exaggerate the low ride heights and wide wheels / tires.

I designed (and build) the "Turn Six" taillights used on the back of your Nemesis. :D
They're originally designed for use as front turn signals for Honda CBR motorcycles. The black outer edge is semi-flexible, and the gap it builds under the signal was originally developed so that the signal could fit over a mounting signal 'bump' that Honda uses.
They certainly look excellent in this application. :thumb2:

BT-The grass was actually quite high which made the car look really low. The ride height was just under 4 inches, and since the Nemesis has practically no overhang “ramp angle to speak of” it’s not too bad on the street according to Fran.
"Streetable" is the magic word among most car nuts I've met.

Those tail lights do look good, almost as good as the ones on my car and that dead pedal looks familiar too. See? Sharing good ideas makes everyone wealthier.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. That car looks like s*e*x on wheels.
It is one of the best looking Exocars ever built.
What is the most efficient way to get ludicrous gobs of power out of one?

I agree. I'd have to say that it's the benchmark for exo's right now in terms of performance & looks, although a second seat can have a tendency to handicap both. :spin: F1 with a passenger?

I'm not sure how it compares performance wise to a 300hp Atom, but I agree, it is the best looking Exo on the market. It would be really cool to have it street legal. As for gobs of power, a turbo Busa motor with lots of work would make more power than the grip the tires could provide.
I am not sure exactly why, but those fake Indy cars that are street legal (usually with a V-6 engine) look like the karts from Malibu Gran Prix, while the Nemesis looks seriously great!
:)

Having never driven one: I suspect the Nemesis is a little heavy for impressive power out of a NA motorcycle motor. (at least to someone with my past experience) However I agree 100% with you BT that the turbo Busa would deliver everything anyone could want and then some more.
Someone sometime has already said that would give someone the chance to "work their way up" from the easier to handle NA Car to the pricier and much wilder to handle Turbo car.

That is a great looking car. Even the Halloween colors look good on it.
I bet it's a blast to drive. Revving that engine all the way up to redline sure would feel good. I also have to wonder how operating a motorcycle clutch with your foot would feel like.
And I also thought I remembered reading about someone driving one and when he downshifted, it blew the engine. Why is that? Is it just because of all the extra weight? Or did he just over-rev the engine?

over-rev the engine, happens a lot, specially if you are not familiar with the engine.
The drag of the drive wheels runs the engine past redline. I read that it happened when they were track testing the Nemesis. One thing I like about the trike I am gettnig from Danny is that it uses an R1 engine with what is known as a "slipper clutch" that allows the drive wheel to roll without the engine locking up the tire on deceleration / downshifting. It also prevents the drive wheel from over-revving the engine on downshifting from what I have read. Not as powerful as the Busa motor, but I'm not that good of a driver either!

I'm pretty sure that the Hayabusa motor has a slipper clutch on it. The benefit on a motorcycle is that when downshifting into a corner, the back-torque from the engine decelerating can cause a loss of rear-end traction. The slipper clutch prevents this from happening. I don't think that performance driving for modern cars emphasizes making use of engine braking as much as it once did.

The europeans have been building motorcycle powered race cars for quite some time, Radical SR3, Westfield XTR4, ADR among some of them. And I think most agree that these are very fast cars but need to be driven differently than their automotive engine powered counterparts.
One of the interesting forums I've been reading is the Westfield XTR4 site, because you get to read about everyones sucesses and misfortunes in building and driving their MC powered kits. Basically the what and what not to do thread. The most engine failures I've read about come from oil starvation in non dry-sumped engines. The Radical/Powertec guys definately already have it figured out.(if you want to spend the money) They even sell 280hp non turbo crate motors built for automotive use.
I've had an intrest in a MC powered car for quite some time and if you ever watch the in car video's of a RadicaL/ADR/XTR4 with an experienced driver you see no engine braking, it's always brake then downshift.
To me the Nemesis just seems like it would be the perfect MC powered track day car that (at least in this state) could be made street legal (woot no trailer) that you could also use as a weekend canyon carver. I think it's definately a winner. :)

Zukun Plan will have a Sponsor tent at the 2010 Meadow Brook Concourse d Elegance this Sunday July 25th. The show is just outside of Detroit, MI.
An RCR Nemesis will be on display as well as some other concept renderings which may be of particular interest to this forum.
Our tent will be located between the Ferrari display and the Supercar display. Fran Hall, the owner of RCR will be there as well.
If anyone can make it, we look forward to meeting you at the show.
