What are everyones thoughts on a fwd turbo eclipse drive train.
the 4g63 has great aftermarket support=evo/eclipse, also lots of tranny gear options. and a donor car could be picked up for reletivly not much like 1500

It has been talked about quite a bit on this site. Mostly positive comments.

power to weight ratio/ballance not found :D

seriously, v8s sound awesome, and are great for heavier cars with reasonable motor placement. But If you want that much UMPH! You'd be better off with a car base 4 banger with some mods or a motorcycle engine. Dont automatically think busa here: the suziki 1200 has lots of aftermarket support and propels an 800 lb bike around.

quite the contrary if you can get the cobra shortblock, which is an all aluminum affair and stick with the 2valve heads you'll have a fairly lightweight v8 combo, but again power to weight, and balance will still be a tricky affair, but for a v8 combo it would be lighter than a lot of others.
