I have two questions for you guys with experience powering little cars with motorcycle motors...

1) How is clutch longevity? Consider the platform being a dedicated track car which includes standing starts.

2) What options are there for reverse?

Many tracks dont use standing starts in the USA.....its not the clutch you have to worry about.....its the output shaft (bending) and the chain(snapping)...

Lots of options for reverse ...some cheap and cheerful ...others expensive and crap(Radical/Quaife)...

I am sure the Locost BEC forum can point you in the right direction..

Its not the track, rather the sanctioning body. Of course open track and DE groups dont do this kind of thing, but lots of ammateur series do. I guess what I was getting at is...in something powered by a motorcycle motor/trans, would standing starts be possible hardware wise or out of the question for reliability purposes.

I'll do some reading to familiarize myself with reverse options, but glad to hear it shouldnt be much of a concern.
