Anyone waiting to see how how this car turns out for a potential buy?

Do you think he can pull off a competitive exo car, that can compare to an arial atom? Do you think that it can be done for the price he intends to sell this car at? Or will it be another Kit looking "sonic 7" or "rocket"?

Errr, how would anybody but me know whats going on?

So for about 10K (plus engine/trans) you want something comparable to an Atom? Thats impossible. Competitive with an Atom - yes, comparable - no. All that money for the Atom does get you some nicely crafted components (if thats your thing) and Ariel has carved itself a chunk of automotive history that I can't pretend to offer (unless I can get Top Gear to give me such an awesome PR coup too!). Mongrel Exo will always carry the stigma of being a copy of an Atom.

Looks are subjective, I don't like "kit car" looks and am trying hard to avoid those tacky looks and I don't place the Sonic as a 'kit car' tacky looker.

Be patient, all will come to light very soon.

Like many i was wowed by the introduction of the atom. I have searched the world wide web comparing all products available and have concluded that thus far the top three budget contenders are the slr, sonic 7 and the mongrel. I have excluded the storm because i don't know its price point and it is a 3 seater. As fran has said" they don't get it". Fran is a very talented and resourcefull guy who got his excellent product to the us market first. Cheapracer is a mechanical engineer with racing experience who is also developing a product for the budget minded person. These are what i call the best bang for the buck category.my thanks to karlos for a great web site and aloysius for taking me for a ride in his slr. Riding in the slr was a lot of fun. The only recommendation i have for fran is to consider bulkhead protection for your feet. I also want to thank fran for a visit to his great facility. I hope to start a build in the near future.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but can you give us some more SLR ride impressions maybe on a new post in the Superlite area?

Id have been interested if it was available when I bought my rocket... especially if it used VW power, something i'm way familiar with.

If its still around in five years and worth a damn.... well who knows.

yeah well you cant change time sorry to say, I'm very happy you got the Rocket.

I've said it before, it's a growing market, theres still room and all brands are helping growth at this point and for a while yet.

I also don't understand 3 seaters, no offence meant to those who do.
