Some photos of the SL-R's running around at Wakefield Park Raceway in Australia earlier this month.

The main event was basically rained out, but the yellow SL-R put down 1:06's on the Friday practice. It's a big HP track, so would see some nice improvement with a little more power. Also a little more track time wouldn't have hurt either.

Yellow SL-R runs a Mitsubishi 4G63 Turbo 2.0lt.

Orange SL-R runs a Honda K24 Turbo 2.4lt.

Enjoy.

Looks like a lot of changes on the yellow car.

1. New roll bar
2. Bigger intercooler
3. Removed passenger seat
4. More angle on the front and rear wings (at least for that track)
5. BMW M6 19" wheels

Any other changes on the yellow are? Upgraded turbo?

Which one is faster? Do the wings seem to make a difference?

Later, Steve

1. Added the optional track rollbar to that SL-R. Much more protection than the standard rollbars for the serious track guys. Also a few of the guys are fitting seats which seat you much higher, so with helmet you end up higher than the standard rollbars. With the standard Aus Spec SL-R seats most drivers would sit a lot lower.

2. Bigger intercooler fitted to get air intake temps down. It's also sized large enough for future engine upgrades. This intercooler as a large aluminium front duct for air flow.

3. Passenger seat was out due to the wet weather. Normally the passeneger seat is in.

4. The wings are the same, the SL-R itself does have more rake.

5. Can't believe you recognised the wheels. They are 18" versions though. They were borrowed as the new wheels the customer ordered did not arrive on time. The offsets push the wheels very wide on the car. We recommend staying with the standard corvette type offsets for wheels.

The orange one was only performing shake down laps on the Friday practice and then the rain came, so we didn't find out. I expect they will be very similar in performance. The orange one will be lighter, but wouldn't have the durability of the yellow one. It's all a compromise.

The orange colour really popped in the sun with all the pearl treatment. Nice choice of chassis colour, well detailed engine bay and nice interior trim. It looked sensational.
