This is my next plan when i get some time to build a chassis out of alloy tube whcih will be able to perform as an exo car and also be able to fit up a light weight cobra body. importantly the chassis must be very stiff and look oh so cool
alloy suspension is a must and a v8 up front.
Did i hear a pin drop ??? who said an exo car has to have the engine in the back?
Awaiting your responces:thumb2:

I think the concept would be a very good idea, although I can see it being very difficult to make a good looking exocar that can still attach to a cobra body. To me, exocars should look like mini-F1 cars, and that look would be difficult with a large V-8 up front and a big radiator in front of that. The side exhausts would be cool though. Also, what would you do about the doors and the trunk? I would like to hear some of your ideas though. If you could pull this off you would be the coolest car guy I know.

My insparation for the chassis came from the atom about 6 years ago when a friend of mine in phoenix AZ show me a picture of one. i dont have any sketches but i have collected a lot of alloy oem suspension components from toyota mazda nissan all of which are very light and strong .
I have just purchased the driveline for the project its an awd aristo all alloy v8. lexus type. i wanted to make the car as light as possible because of the extra weight of awd system.
Its not a dream car i have invested many thousands of $$ into parts for the project like brembo brakes motec ecu and cdi. alloy shocks ect. as soon as i have some thing to show it will be here.

I think it would be much much simpler to just try and make it an Exo car and not put a body onto it. Unless you have built cars from the ground up before it sure seems like one hell of a big job!! Personally, I think the look of an Exo car is much better than one with a body. Build the next one with a body!!
If you like the look of a Cobra why not just to a Factory Five??

I have been building cars for over 8 years now so the task in not a daunting one. There is not a cobra manufacturer that could give me what it want. The only cobra kit i would buy if i had the funds would be a kirkam.
The idea is that i can have 2 cars in one an exo car and a cobra. I have just purchased the engine and trans its all alloy and awd 4 ltr v8.

I took a couple of pics of my single rotor rotary.
Its half of a 13b mazda rotary which i built over 10 years ago
For a 3/4 miget speedway car. it was super charged at the time with mechanical methanol injection . went good but had problems with blower drives it reved way to quick . So i put it away for for a worthy project. now that i have played with turbos now i know how it will be setup. it weighs about 40 kg or about 88 lbs. it lends it self to a light exo car with a 6 speed close ration box and lots of boost.

I think someone already beat you to the punch! They even kept the engine in the back.
