http://www.race-technology.com/

In stand alone mode, it has .........
4 analog inputs,
wheel-speed
engine speed
indicator LEDs
High Beam
Alternator\charge
Brake system alert
fog-lamp indicator.
5 fully configurable screens...
Configurable high brightness 6LED Shiftlight bar (with high low intensity sensing for night day driving.)
Road legal non resetable odometer.

all sensor inputs is fully calibrate-able.

then you can hook it up to a logger, and then the sky is the limit....

Nice but $1000 is a bit expensive.

Indeed, very expensive..... But, if you where to compare it to a set of VDO's that can show the same info scattered over a dash that covers half the front of a car, then this is actually not such a bad deal, price wise as well as performance wise..... and it gives you options that is just not possible with normal instrumentation....

But still.....most definitely not for someone building a locost project.....

FYI -

I suggest you compare the DigiDash II Lite or Pro+ (with Data-Logger) against this unit. You'll find that the DigiDash II has a lot more functionality at a lower cost.

I actaully did.... problem with it, it is LED.... no good for open cockpit situations where direct sunlight can get to it... you can't see nothing.... once digidash upgrades to a proper LCD display, I will be all for it...

I'm curious -
Have you actually seen a DigiDash II unit?

The racers who have used it over the last few years have no visibility problems.

Please note that the unit has adjustable brightness, contrast, and anti glare.

Chet

PS - You should note that the other unit uses LEDs for their shift light, Probably so they were sure customers could see it in the daylight!

I know this thread is like a year old and I'm new to this exocar phase I'm going thru, but I have a koso gp gauge on my bike that is just absolutely great but doesn't have gear or boost. But its smaller and less expensive than the digidash. If I'm not mistaken, they make them for Cars too. Also, if anybody has a recommendation for a first time builder regarding which kit to purchase, feel free to informicate me.
