So I have been perusing this site and have found it ultra usefull. I am personally considering buidling an exo car myself, I have quite a varied skillset and background, but needless to say I currently don't do automotive anymore, and do industrial diesel engines. However I have a very unique insight to the legalities of Virginia State Law. I am in fact a licensed state inspector, and as illegal as a lot of these cars I have seen on this site are, I cannot stop wrapping my mind around the idea of a car that weighs less than 1500 pounds and has 150-400 hp pushing it down the road. I have seriously contemplated scrapping my project car that I have been working on for the last 5 years and transfer as much of those goodies into a custom, from scratch, built from the ground up exo car for myself. My only question is are there any people here from Virginia and what cars do you have and what loopholes, if any, did you utilize to get your car road legal.

Do you have any pictures of your project?

here's a few pictures currently i have a few choice mods on it, it's turbo'd, I have been playing with honda's ever since i got started in this silly game. But my mantra has always been the best cars aren't bought but built and I have been racking my brain as to what I wanted to do with this car, it is seriously hindered by the fact it's FWD, and I feel that this engine I am finishing up will be put to best use in a RWD mid engine setup. My honest to god opinion of my legalities of an exo car, is to build an exo car that I can somehow take my factory lude body and put it over it in such a way on the outside and from a distance it looks legal, but still retains the vin plates that it needs to keep it somewhat legal.
