Hello Fran
What model of wheels do you have specd for the SLR? Weight?
What brand and type of shocks do you have planned? Adjustable?
What is the range of ground clearance you are shooting for?

The wheels are a standard GM wheel. C5 Corvette...
The shocks are Carrera coilovers...double adjustables are also available as an upgrade.
The suspension sweet spot is designed around a 5.inch ground clearance

What model are they and whats the spring rating.
I would bet the springs are in the range of 350#, mybe as much as 500# if it is set up for a stiff track ride.

I use QA1 shocks exclusively...
The base shock is a fully threaded body anodised in red only.
The valving on the shocks is preset at 50/50 comp-rebound.
The valving can be changed in approx 15 mins but requires the shocks be disassembled to achieve this.
We also have an upgrade to an externally double adjustable unit with seperate comp/rebound adjustments...
I use both of these shock packages on my existing range of cars and have been extremely happy with the results.
Supply is great and the QA1 support is second to none.
Spring rates vary upon usage but street units will run with 350lb and track start at 450lbs....rates will vary depending upon tyre choice so take these numbers as baselines...
The only issue is that springs are not interchangebale between the
two different shock packages ...so if you feel you will be doing some rack work or would like the opportunity to "fiddle" with your ride quality then choose the Double adjustables form the start and you cant go wrong....
The upgrade cost is under $750 and is money well spent.....IMHO.

Double adjustable means that you can adjust the rate at which the shock compresses and also at which the rate it rebounds...independently of each other.....real performance stuff....just turn the little black knobs located on the lower shock body.
