Hey all. First post here. Just found this forum a few days ago trying to decide on suspension geometry for my own design. I had NO clue there were this many exocar manufacturer's.
With that said, I was hoping the people that built their own exocar could chime in and give a fairly accurate cost figure for their build.
I would like costs from scratch, those with one off garage builds, and the prototype cost for those that are manufacturing.
I know costs add up, and at least 5% are from unforeseen expenditures. I built a go kart with a 450cc motorcycle engine from scratch and it cost a lot more than it should have.
Not to rule anyone out, I'd also like to hear from those of you who bought a kit car.
How about just giving a design to a fabricator and having him weld it up? Anyone done that? I read that pook was commissioned to build an exocar, but cost wasn't in there.
Side question, what are people using as wheel bearing bosses/sleeves? There's a groove on the ID of the boss for a circlip, did you guys cnc your own? or can you buy a boss and wheel bearing combo to your specs?
Thanks! Hope to learn more from this forum.
